Argentina adds 128,402 COVID-19 cases, 139 deaths

BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Argentina on Thursday reported 128,402 new COVID-19 infections and 139 more deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the national counts to 6,793,119 and 117,808 respectively.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, the daily death toll was the highest since Sept. 17, when 185 deaths were reported.

The province of Buenos Aires was worst hit with 49,908 cases, followed by Cordoba (15,508), the city of Buenos Aires (12,656) and Santa Fe (11,313).

Meanwhile, over 81.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the South American country so far, according to the Public Vaccination Monitor.
